With a New Year upon us, many people have made resolutions, spent far too much money in the sales on bargains and returned to the ‘normality’ of school runs and being back at work.

Both our houses have been subject to big clean ups after Christmas. Packing away all the new toys that have made their way across the whole house. Sorting out the now babyish toys and passing them on to friends for their little ones to appreciate.

We’ve generally had a good freshen up of the house, replacing a few old things and buying some new to see away the January blues.

Sarah has a double bed at her house and after being invaded at night by Peach has decided to invest in a king size quilt. With that of course comes new bedding.

Lucy has an amazing new super king bed too that is in need of some beautiful new bedding. So we have decided to share with you our top picks for ‘New bedding for a New Year’.

Sarah’s picks

I just love this beautiful ‘Blythe Meadow’ bedding by V & A. Full of pretty wild flowers, just perfect for my dream country home. It’s available in Debenhams prices range from £28 – £68.

My second pick is this Canterbury grey by Yorkshire Linen. I love the floral pattern. The light and airy grey will look perfect in my bedroom against the furniture. The price ranges from £12-£20 so it really is great value for money.

Lucy’s picks

I have a strange obsession with waffle bedding so I would love this beautiful soft grey Hoxton waffle bedding by The White Company. I used to have a similar one for my old bed and it was the softest snuggliest bedding and it always made me happy climbing into bed when it was on (to be fair climbing into bed these days makes me happy anyway but it’s amplified by gorgeous soft bedding aaah). Double Duvets are currently £52.50 in their 30% off sale.

My next bedding is something that has been on my list for quite some time, linen bedding – yes please! Soft, snuggly and no ironing. (Wait I don’t ever iron my bedsheets anyway, is that bad?) I love the relaxed look of linen and would love to invest in some like this stunning set from Loaf, perhaps in a soft pale pink?. Duvet covers start at £150

What do you think to my picks? Very different from Sarahs pretty floral ones aren’t they? Both beautiful but each one suiting our own style. That’s why I love doing these posts – you can see Sarah and I’s totally different tastes!

Love Always
